it´s time to introduce you the last project. after good two month of work the beta version is finished for now. the goal is a simple online gallery which allows artists to present their pictures in the net. yes, nothing new at all, smaller and bigger sites leaded the way many times. the speciality in this case will be the focus on latin america and for the time being not 100% professional way, how the renomated online gallerys, who are very oriented on "real" gallerys.
it would be important for me to see it as a community which allows fast and easy (after a one time registration, all pictures can be put online withing 2 minutes) to present their artwork. all information about the picture is unsolicitous, pitures are instantly - without revision from our side - online and can be put offline the same way. adding an obligatory comment function to pictures and profiles, lists of artists, sorting by pictures by style/technique und some stuff more, should be a good base to get started with.
another bunch of features is well stored in the drawer and will be - depending on the success of everything - put in action in the next time.

the rivers name is sixaola and in the middle there is the border between panama and costa rica. the place on the other side is called chase. why, nobody could answer me.
we get into the boat to cross the river. a bazaar where you can find anything you want from a telephone to perfume, from a buggy to a tire. officially we are in panama. it turns out that here on the crocodile contaminated river - far away from every discussion about tlc and open markets - a palestinian free trade zone is making their own rules. in comparison with costa rica, everything is extremely cheap, because there are no high import taxes you might pay if you'd cross the border legally.
chase is so famous, that in the pre-christmas period buses loaded with people from san josé willing to do a 4 hour trip (oneway) arrive here to buy presents. of course without papers. another paradox that reminds me to the time when people traveled miles to the czech border to fill their fuel tanks, because it was cheaper.

*) utf8 support. maybe not for english but definitly for esperanto with it's ĝŝŭ's it became necessary to build a waterproof utf8 text system (pretty funny because php doesn't support it officially)

yes it took a long time but finally it worked: since today nomolos.net is (again) officially on 0wnz.at. thanks to mister rrrr. who helpt me patiently to change the server.

for people looking out for pictures here it's a hard time. that is because i'm not leaving my room very much :) first there came the server change and then i looked out for an online gallery in order to view some costa rican artists. after finding out that there is nothing like this, i dug out the old concept of fishworx united and started coding. (even if not a single line of source could make it into the new cms (aka polvmaŝino relámpago, if base on the version 2.0 but heavily modified).
torpetina, anyway isn't forgotten. it exist an unfinished version of episode 2 but we are still redesigning it.

this week i have to renew my visa, which means i'm going to panama. panama city and the famous canal in particular. afterwards there will be more pictures. promise!

or why the movie 300 can't lay claim.
some content. (and it's not so much. beware! spoiler ahead!)
the discussion about this movie rotates about the historical point of orgine: the spartans and the argument that they really have been like that. right on the beginning of the movie the audience learns, that every spartan child is being selected by the eyes of the old. if it doesn't fit into the ideal world it was blot out. sounds very familiar.
the show goes on about the initiation of a young healthy spartan who has to prevail in a world full of evil.
in the end king leonidas uses a trick to fight against the approaching persians although the priest forbit it. the deformed and more creature like priest have fallen victim to the gold of persian king xerxes.
the good kind says farwell to his noble queen and goes to kick some persian ass together with 300 other spartans. the next hour of the movie they spent speaking pathetic about death and glory and massacren hundreds of enimies. these consist out of various stuntmen and a lot of perfectly rendred beasts.
interrupted just by the recurring offers of the persians to give up. the 1000 nations of the persian empire are portrait as sexuell revealing, unfree men and creatures who worship a wrong god. the pure spartan is the perfect weapon, ingenuous men who just want to defend their women and children. i didn't rate that the enimies are black and the spartans white.
the only deformed spartan becomes a renegade and the story gamles it's chance of any reflexion about it's content away.
the historical claim
it is not a historic movie. it's a movie based on a comic which itself is based on a historical event. every instance has changed the material.
every movie reflects the time it was shot in. there are no exceptions. to play blind and say that yes they have been like that isn't possible. do a movie about auschwitz and let the nazis be the good ones who rescue the germans by cleaning the jewish scum out of this world. yes it was like that. but to do such a movie nobody could thinkg of (except of course mahmud ahmadinedschad and friends).
it's about the presentation not about the historical circumstance or facts. the movie contains absolutely no self-reflexion. in this story politicans are weak, the athenian democrats are boylovers and the fact that sparta was no democracy is not mentioned.
i refuse myself to the european mental-fart theorie which says that if white guy fight black guys and the white guys win i have to feel bad. it's not factual. this movie is racist and contains faschism glorifying ideas. that it was perfectly staged and produced is another thing, but it doesn't help it.

my opinion is like dana stevens from slate.com who said in her review a movie only a spartan could love, that if the movie was produced in the 1930er it would be along with the eternal jew serve as a example of faschist movie production.

stranded in the caribean. how long, i don't know. in the beginning it were just for 3 days now it's more than a week.
a bad thing: not internet. (i don't consider a 56k connection as "internet").
so i have to go to the little village and have some fun with slow connection lines. that's why it takes some time to answer emails.
the rest is fine. the semana santa hast started and all people go to the beaches..
